My career before I joined financial services was extremely varied, from being a Red Coat at Butlins to managing a public house.

In 1998, I joined Pearl Assurance as a financial adviser, working my way up to management joining LV= in 2001.

There, I helped build a sales force of 150 advisers, and I progressed to a senior management level before being made redundant in 2008.

At this point I joined Culver Financial Management where I was tasked to build a team of Financial Advisers and then in 2013, my wife Sarah and I set up our own company Premier Financial Consultancy, which we re-branded in January 2016 as Genesis Wealth Creation Ltd.

I am delighted to say that some of the team that work with us now had worked with me at previous companies.

I am proud of what we have accomplished and I am pleased to see that our brand is going from strength to strength, as we continue to create wealth for our clients.

"When it comes to you entrusting your money to Genesis, it is vitally important to me that you receive reliable, honest, consistent and trustworthy advice. I pride myself on the fact that we build lifelong relationships with our clients through our team of experienced and trusted advisers."

Out of work, I enjoy travelling all over the world with Sarah, and this takes in some of the sports that we both enjoy, Golf, Rugby Union and Motorsport.

Director / Financial Adviser, DipFA AwPETR MLIBF

I always believed that I would have a career in catering/hotel management and to that end, I went to college before qualifying and spending six years working in hotels with the later years as a reception manager.

In 1995, I was looking for a new challenge, but I wanted to still work with people, and so I joined Pearl Assurance and soon found out that joining the financial services industry was the right decision to make.

During my time there I won many awards and was recognised as a top achiever, then in 2001, I was recruited to join LV=.

My time at LV= was a real experience, I once again was recognised as a top adviser, and in 2004, I was invited to Malaysia to present a speech to 1500 financial advisers at a LUSEB conference.

In 2008, the financial adviser section of LV= closed down, and I decided to join Culver Financial Management.

Then in 2013, my husband Roy and I started our own business. We formed, what is known today as Genesis Wealth Creation and I feel lucky that all of my clients from over the years are still my clients today.

"I always look at people's financial situation as I would do my own. In many cases, it has taken a long time to build up the capital and assets people have available. It is important to me that they are given the best advice and receive an ongoing service to ensure that they continue to achieve their goals."

I love my two British Shorthair cats, Pru and Mungus and most of my clients know all about them too! I enjoy travel and also enjoy sports such as rugby union, motorsport, golf  - ideally combining the two.

Mike Gilmer

Financial Adviser, AwPETR MLIBF

I left University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Economics. Over several years, I have experienced financial adviser roles with companies starting with Britannic Assurance, then advising x-pats in Holland, before joining Liverpool Victoria and then becoming a Financial Planning Manager for Barclays.

I became a financial adviser in 2011 and passed my Diploma in Investment Planning in March 2011 via the Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland, giving me the necessary level 4 qualification for the industry.

Since then, I have gained further qualifications of CF8 Long-Term Care, and I also hold the pension specialist qualification AwPETR. (Award in pension transfers).

I joined Genesis Wealth Creation in 2013, and I have to say that the professional way that they support both myself and my clients is excellent and I look forward too many more years of working for this organisation.

I am proud to say that, I advise clients each year who I have known for well over ten years, which I believe is a testimony to the relationship I have with them.

"I will always act in your best interest. Listening to you, so that I understand your current personal and financial situation before I make any suggestions. I will explain why any recommendations I do make, will help you to achieve your goals and I will continue to work with you, as I look to build a lifelong relationship as your trusted adviser."

Outside of work my passion is playing golf, here at my home club of Enville and also travelling the UK enjoying the beauty and challenge that other golf courses offer.

Financial Adviser, DipFA MLIBF

I am best known to my friends and clients as Bill.

I had a varied career which started off in the financial services industry back in 1995 when I joined what was then Abbey Life.

In 1996, I joined Pearl assurance where I stayed until 2002, then moved onto companies such as Royal Liver and LV, before becoming an Independent Financial Adviser in 2009 with Culver Financial Management.

In 2013 I joined Genesis Wealth Creation, and this is the company that I will work for until I retire, as they treat everyone fairly, staff and customers alike.

"I firmly believe in treating others as I would wish to be treated myself, with integrity and respect. I take my time to fully understand your needs and objectives, which then enables me to help you plan for the future."

I endeavour to keep fit by walking a lot with my wife Jen and we enjoy cooking and entertaining our family and friends.

Sporting wise, I enjoy quality time with my grown sons, either match fishing or watching football and Rugby union. For my sins I follow both West Ham Utd. and the Saracens Rugby team.

Jim Douglas

Financial Adviser, Dip PFS

More commonly known as Jim, before coming into the financial service industry, I owned a licenced greengrocer and Spar franchise up until 1995.

In 1995, I joined the CIS as an Insurance Agent. My success with CIS quickly led to a move to Prudential as a Financial Consultant where I remained until the decision was made by the company in 1999 to no longer provide face to face advice.

I then joined Liverpool Victoria, where I spent eight happy years providing face to face advice to members, and reaching the position of Senior Financial Planning Consultant before being made redundant in 2008.

During my brief spell with Edward Jones, I gained my Stockbrokers qualification, before joining Barclays bank in 2009.

However, when Barclays also decided to withdraw face to face advice, I realised it was time to take charge of my destiny.

Having briefly worked for Culver Financial Services, it was in 2014, that I decided to join my friends and colleagues who had formed their own company which is today known as Genesis Wealth Creation Ltd.

I consider my current role with Genesis Wealth Creation to be my most satisfying, as I now have the time and the capacity to give my clients the level of service that they deserve.

I am a member of the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute, and I currently hold the CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (QCF).

"As your financial adviser, I endeavour to know and understand your financial situation, and provide you with only the highest level of support to help you reach all of your financial goals. That means helping you to build, protect and distribute your wealth throughout your lifetime."

On a personal note, I live in Prestwick, and when I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my five grandchildren.

Also, I love travelling with my wife Amanda, and my hobbies include cooking, gardening and going to the gym.

I also love to go hill-walking, and I have recently combined this with raising funds for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (formerly Yorkhill).
